Le petit Manoir
Beautiful 200 year old house and 1 bedroom gite

mainhouse.jpg

The building consists of a 2 bedroom house and a newly refurbished one bedroom gite, situated to the right of the photo above. They are both part of the main building but are totally independant. They can be rented out seperately or both together. The situation of this house is unique due to being placed near the edge of the village of Riberac. This allows privacy behind the house and village life in front.
The garden is safe, secluded and tranquil. At the front of the building is the  road to the village centre, where after a short 5 minute walk you can be in the cafes and restaurants of this delightful village. This means that this house is ideally situated for  relaxing afternoons and evenings in the garden, but minutes away from a lovely village square with water fountains and pavement cafes.

Local info

For cooling off in summer there are many places to swim, canoe/kayak or take boat trips on the river. At nearby Lake Jamaye you can swim from a sandy beach, picnic, or watch the birds and wild tortoises at the special hides and viewpoints. The local landscape is dotted with pretty villages surrounded by vineyards, cornfields and, in high summer, fields of bright yellow sunflowers. Riberac has a wonderful Friday market and, in July and August there are evening markets which take over the main streets of the town.

Places to visit.

Nearby Brantome is known as the "Venice of France" and the beautiful medieval town of Perigueux is just a short drive. Less than an hour away is the city of Bergerac, it has a fascinating old town with small shops and cafes to relax in. The elegant city of Bordeaux is around an hour away on the A89, but dont forget to stop off at the stunning village of St Emillion where there are vines as far as the eye can see and a beautiful old town where the atmosphere is so tranquil. (Of course the wine is excellent too).
